Job's Plea     back

if my sorrow could be weighed with
all my misery –
it would surely
be more than the sands of all the seas

why do you not forgive my sins
Or cover over my offense?
When will you look away from me
Or for an instant, let me be?

If only there was someone who could mediate for me
Then I could present myself to the one who judges me

What is a man that you make so much
Of all that he says and all he does?
Down in the ground I soon will be
Will you still go looking for me?

If only there was someone who could mediate for me
Then I could present myself to the one who judges me
